Q: Is there something your town/city is famous for, or something interesting or unique about it?
A: I belong to Dargai Malakand, and it’s famous for the three hydropower houses built there. One of the amazing sites in my home town is the mountain range in and around the locality.
Q: Favourite subject in school? A favorite course at university?
A: I got my bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from Abasyn University. My favorite subject was Psychology because I have always been intrigued to learn how humans work.
Q: Work experience?
A: I have been a graphic designer for three years, working with four different Organizations, including Stepnex, itSpurt, Dukandar.com, and Puretech.
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: I love sketching and listening to music. I like keeping myself busy with digital drawings and playing video games.
Q: Why did you apply to the KP Government Innovation Fellowship?
A: To get recognition for my work and gain experience of working with the government. I also wanted to learn new ways of working with teams combining new technologies.
Q: Which government department were you assigned to work with? What solution did you work on?
A: I was working with the Health Department and designing an augmented reality-based indoor navigation system for hospitals in KPK.
Q: Other achievements you want to share?
A: One of the achievements that I want to share is building an app where people can find location-based blood donors.
Q: How has your experience of the Fellowship program and working with the government been like? What were the challenges? What were the positive aspects?
A: My experience has been excellent overall. I learned the differences between the working style of the government and private departments. The project flow was very smooth, and everyone was very supportive and helpful.
Q: What was your favorite part of being a Fellow?
A: Being appreciated for my work and skillset by the team.
Q: What was the unique quality you brought to the Fellowship?
A: That would be my ability to design things.
Q: What do you hope will be the impact of the work that you did? What do you hope this will achieve?
A: It will make hospital visits more convenient and accessible for citizens.
Q: What is one civic/social problem in your community/hometown that you think needs to be solved urgently?
A: Counseling for adults in the area, so they know how to treat and educate their children.
Q: What is your favorite book/movie/tv show, and why?
A: My favorite movie is Memento, and I like it because of how it engages the viewer from the beginning to the end.
Q: What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
A: People would be surprised to know that my left ear isn’t functional.
Q: How would other people (friends, colleagues) describe you?
A: Somebody who is funny, caring, and helpful.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why?
A: To have a strong memory so that I can store all the knowledge in the world.
