Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.
A: Hi, my name is Tauseef Ahmad, I am originally from Hangu, but have been settled in Peshawar since my elementary years. I am a Computer Scientist and I graduated from Iqra National University, Peshawar. I have two years of work experience in Android Development.
Q: How has your education prepared you for this job?
A: As I have an undergraduate degree in computer sciences, it became routine for me to learn different programming languages and so I chose Android as my field. I have learned many new skills in this particular field and I am fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to work in Android app development as part of the KP Fellowship.
Q: Did you learn any Android development-related skills through the web?
A: Yes, I have gone through numerous websites like Stack Overflow and GitHub, where I learned various skills for Android development. YouTube tutorials have been a great guide as well.
Q: Tell us about your overall work experience.
A: The experience is absolutely amazing so far. I am enjoying my time in the Fellowship.
Q: Tell me about something you struggled with early in your career and how you overcame it.
A: I have always been quite shy. However, I have been pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone and make the necessary changes in myself to grow in my career.
Q: What have you done professionally that is not an experience you’d want to repeat?
A: Sharing my colleague’s code without his permission. I did it once but I won’t repeat that mistake again.
Q: Were you keen to be selected in the KP Fellowship Program or did you just apply casually?
A: Yes, I really wanted to get selected for the Fellowship Program so I could work on different government projects.
Q: What significance does the Fellowship Program hold in your professional career?
A: It holds a key significance in my career as it will push my knowledge and skills forward and will be helpful in my future endeavors.
Q: In a few words, describe what skills and knowledge you can bring to the Fellowship team?
A: I am a team player, which is important in any organization. Also, I believe my expertise in Android development and Java is an asset to the Fellowship team.
Q: What role are our Fellows/mentors playing in shaping and guiding you?
A: The mentors’ support has been great so far. They are supportive and helpful whenever there is a need and that applies to the other Fellows as well, whether it is assisting me in my project or guiding me on what features I should work on.
Q: What is your philosophy towards teamwork?
A: Teamwork is very essential for boosting confidence and it does play an important role while doing any project, be it government-based or private.
Q: What would you like to change (positively) in our organization, and how would you do that?
A: Frequent visits, at least once a week, to specific departments to have more interaction with government officials.
Q: What personal or professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
A: I was top of my class in my many semesters throughout my BSCS at university and I am quite proud of that.
