Software development is fast growing towards a more productive and extensible open source ecosystems that have well defined interfaces. APIs establish the backbone of multi-platform application support. Jump in and join us to develop open source APIs that can be used by application developers to develop civic, and even, business apps for web, desktop and mobile platforms.
Code for Pakistan is planning to build APIs to make it easy to develop civic apps. For this, we are arranging a series of workshops on how to design APIs and use this skill to initiate The Civic-APIs open source project. The APIs designed in these workshops will be used in Civic App Challenges and Hackathons.
This is invite only free event. Due to limited capacity we will give preference to professional developers. However students contributing to open source or working as freelancers will also be preferred.
APIMATIC CTO will teach how to design awesome API. This will be followed by a design thinking workshop to define interfaces for the upcoming challenge around API for Civic Hackathons. The Urban Practice founder will moderate the session.
