The Development Associate will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with potential and existing donors, partners, and stakeholders. This individual will leverage the organization’s initiatives and goals to secure funding and create meaningful partnerships that amplify the reach and impact of Code for Pakistan's projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Partnership Development:
- Identify, engage, and establish partnerships with corporate entities, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Represent Code for Pakistan at conferences, workshops, and meetings to foster relationships and present partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify partnership opportunities that align with the organization's strategic goals.
- Funding Management:
- Research and identify potential donors, grants, and fundraising opportunities.
- Draft and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with donor specifications and deadlines.
- Organize fundraising events and campaigns, liaising with marketing and communications teams to ensure effective promotion.
- Manage and maintain a donor database; ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors.
- Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the Communications Manager, Director of Development, and CEO to develop and implement strategic plans related to funding and partnerships.
- Provide insights and feedback to enhance the organization's partnership and funding strategies.
- Communication:
- Develop and maintain communication materials related to partnerships and funding, including presentations, brochures, and digital content.
- Regularly communicate with partners and donors, ensuring they are updated on the organization's initiatives and impact.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the communications, research, and project teams to align partnership and funding activities with ongoing initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

- Excellent, high energy, group facilitation skills, as well as interpersonal communication skills that include cultural and political sensitivity.
- Experience of working and collaborating with stakeholders, such as governments, development partners, civil society, academia, and industry.
- Participation in a national network of technologists and social sector professionals to increase outreach.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team towards tasks and objectives.
- Basic understanding of sustainable social programs as well as of civic tech.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in partnership development and funding roles, preferably within the tech or non-profit sectors.
- Strong understanding of the tech ecosystem in Pakistan and globally.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Pashto and Urdu/Hindi is a plus.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, Google Analytics, and other relevant software/tools.
- Proactive, self-driven, and able to work in a dynamic environment.
