Under the Civic Innovator Program, a student team from Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar developed Agri-Alert, an AI-powered mobile application designed to support early detection of plant diseases and pests. The system used a deep learning model (ResNet50) to analyze plant images and provide instant diagnosis through a mobile-first interface. The platform also included detection history, role-based access, and expert-informed guidance to help farmers take appropriate next steps. 

The solution was developed in consultation with government stakeholders, with feedback emphasizing local disease coverage, offline functionality, and Urdu language support to improve accessibility for farmers. The system architecture combined a Flutter mobile app, a Node.js backend, and a cloud-hosted AI model and database, enabling scalable deployment and future expansion. 

By making AI-based plant health support more accessible, the system showed strong potential to help farmers make timely decisions, reduce crop losses, and strengthen data-informed agricultural extension services.
