Dear Friends,

Tabinda Qurat is a young woman from Bannu, a city located on the Kurram River in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan. Each time her 55-year-old father, Quratullah Sahib, takes his daughter's name, his face lights up with pride. Tabinda holds a Bachelor's in Computer Science and a Master’s in Data Science. She is an alumna of our KP Women Civic Digital Internship Program and is currently one of 20 full-time Fellows in the 8th cohort of the KP Government Innovation Fellowship Program.

Quratullah Sahib is now supporting his daughter’s dream of giving back to the country. And giving back she is — Tabinda is currently working on a KP government AI project aimed at streamlining administrative processes, bringing efficiency and ease to public services. She recently shared this heartfelt post on her LinkedIn (a platform we taught all our interns to use during the internship program).

At Code for Pakistan, we’ve seen the life-changing impact of empowering women in underserved communities. Through our KP Women Civic Digital Internship Program, we’ve helped 60 women in KP overcome barriers, acquire in-demand technology skills, secure employment, and become financially independent.

  • 50% of our graduates are now working or freelancing in the digital economy, breaking cycles of dependency.
  • Interns have contributed to over 20 impactful projects, including government-backed initiatives such as AI-powered civic solutions and public service platforms.

Why You Should Care

Not all women have the support system that Tabinda has had. Many are never allowed to work, learn, or apply their education due to barriers such as:

In Pakistan, women make up just 22% of the workforce, with those from underserved communities facing the steepest challenges.

But you can help change this.

We are excited to introduce the Women Civic Digital Internship Program in Sindh, inspired by the success of our KP model. This initiative offers The Citizens Foundation (TCF) school alumni a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills and explore pathways into the digital economy.

Our interns will:

  • Learn cutting-edge skills in UI/UX Design, Full-Stack Development, and Artificial Intelligence
  • Contribute to impactful civic tech projects
  • Access remote jobs and achieve financial independence
  • Receive a monthly stipend
  • Gain dedicated one-on-one mentorship with industry experts

Every laptop donation becomes a strong>bridge to opportunity, empowering a woman to explore her true potential.

How You Can Make an Impact

This Giving Tuesday, our goal is to raise $10,000 to provide 20 laptops for women interns in underserved communities in Pakistan.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to this goal. Here’s how you can help:

  • $50: Covers the cost of essential software and tools for one laptop
  • $250: Funds half the cost of a laptop for one intern
  • $500: Provides a full laptop, giving one woman the opportunity to learn and thrive
  • $5,000: Funds laptops for 10 women, equipping an entire cohort to succeed

Your Pledge, Their Future

Will you join us in making this vision a reality?

If you’d prefer to donate a physical laptop, we kindly request that it meets the following minimum specifications:

  • 8 GB RAM
  • Core i5, 10th Generation

Together, we can open doors for these women, providing them the tools to transform their lives and communities.

What Your Support Achieves

When you invest in these women, you:

  • Help them grow professionally and find meaningful work.
  • Play a role in closing the gender gap in the workforce while shaping the next generation of civic tech leaders.
  • Give them a chance to use their skills and reach their potential, breaking cultural barriers and moving beyond limited, menial roles.
  • Spark civic engagement and empower active contributors who drive progress and positive change in society.
