We are looking for a talented and experienced Grant Writing Consultant to join our team and help secure vital funding for our innovative programs and initiatives.

In this part-time role, you will play a crucial role in driving our mission forward by researching, drafting, and submitting winning grant proposals that resonate with funders. What You'll Do As our Grant Writing Consultant, you will:

  • Discover & Strategize: Research and identify grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporate partners that align with our mission.
  • Collaborate & Create: Work closely with leadership and program teams to understand funding needs and craft compelling, persuasive narratives for grant proposals.
  • Write & Perfect: Develop, write, and edit grant applications, including letters of intent, proposals, budgets, and all supporting documents, ensuring accuracy and alignment with funding priorities.
  • Organize & Submit: Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of all applications, keeping the process smooth and efficient.
  • Engage & Connect: Communicate with funders and partners as needed to clarify requirements, provide updates, and build strong, lasting relationships.
  • Track & Report: Monitor progress on submitted grants, report on outcomes to internal stakeholders, and continuously refine strategies for success.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up to date with fundraising trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in the nonprofit and civic tech sectors.

  • Grant Writing Expertise: Proven ability to craft high-quality, persuasive proposals that capture the attention of funders and align with their priorities.
  • Research Savvy: Skilled in identifying relevant grant opportunities and developing effective funding strategies.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring accuracy, completeness, and professionalism in all grant applications.
  • Exceptional Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting compelling narratives and coordinating seamlessly with team members.
  • Master of Time Management: Able to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines without breaking a sweat.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of grant writing experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector, with a proven track record of securing significant funding.
  • Familiarity with civic tech and the key stakeholders in this domain.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Knowledge of grant reporting requirements and processes.
