About Code for Pakistan

Code for Pakistan (CfP) is a civic innovation non‑profit dedicated to improving public services and empowering citizens through technology. We run fellowship programs, internships, civic innovation labs, and digital projects with governments across Pakistan, while also contributing to the global Code for All network.

Role Overview

The Senior Technology Lead is a versatile leader who thrives at the intersection of technology, community, and governance. This role requires someone who can move seamlessly between contexts: coding alongside young developers, mentoring and guiding emerging talent, delivering talks that inspire diverse audiences, and engaging with government officials to shape impactful digital initiatives.

The position is about more than technical delivery — it’s about driving civic technology forward. The Senior Technology Lead will set the standard for technical excellence, foster collaboration and mentorship, and represent Code for Pakistan as a thought leader in AI and civic innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of AI‑driven and digital solutions that improve civic services.
  • Actively mentor and coach young community members, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Contribute hands‑on to coding projects, ensuring high standards of quality and impact.
  • Represent CfP in conferences, seminars, and public forums, delivering talks on civic tech and AI.
  • Build strong relationships with government officials, donors, and civic partners to advance CfP’s mission.
  • Promote knowledge‑sharing through hackathons, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and citizen‑centric.

Required Experience

  • 8–12 years in software development and technology leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in AI, machine learning, or data‑driven applications.
  • Track record of mentoring, teaching, or community engagement.
  • Experience liaising with government or institutional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to balance hands‑on coding with strategic leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts and modern software practices.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Capacity to manage diverse stakeholders and priorities.
