Ammaz Khan is an open data enthusiast and volunteer, working to create a community of OpenStreetMap contributors across Pakistan. As part of the Alliance for Urban Rights, Ammaz has conducted mapping and surveys of Islamabads katchi abadis, helping to map the amenity disparity and the marginalization of these communities. Independently, he has assisted in creating mapping solutions for journalists, most notably creating a night light pollution map of the Karachi coastline. He writes about urban solutions on his Medium page. Ammaz has completed his Masters in Politics Economics and Philosophy from the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. Currently, Ammaz is teamed with Faizan Khattak, creating a workable map of the Islamabad public transport system.
