There was no online system available through which the government could track prenatal and postnatal health conditions of mothers and newborn babies. This limitation resulted in delayed treatment of patients, leading to severe cases due to the unavailability of patient data. The government lacked precise data on the health status of newborns and mothers, hindering the timely and effective provision of relief and rehabilitation.
A maternity care system for local BHUs of KP was developed in collaboration with KPITB, to digitise the record-keeping of expecting mothers and newborn babies in Basic Health Units (BHUs) in the KP province.
