The Department needed an online License and Product Registration System for food-related items and products. Additionally, the department required a mobile app for collecting citizen feedback on the quality of food in restaurants and shops.
After analysing the department's requirements, a team of Fellows under the 7th cycle developed an online system for the department. This online system aimed to streamline the process of acquiring food licenses, mandatory for selling food-related items and branded food products in KP. This initiative aimed to ensure that the food served and sold adhered to hygiene standards and was fresh. Furthermore, it provided a platform for citizens to report food businesses engaging in unhygienic practices. The app also facilitated public ratings of food outlets and provided feedback on SOPs, policies, and food quality.
In addition to the mobile app, the Fellows team also developed the department's website. The website incorporated an online business registration module and a complaint module, enhancing accessibility and efficiency in business operations and public engagement.
